Moving to LA

In the beginning of September I moved all the way to Los Angeles, California from small town Minnesota. It was a journey and leaving my family behind was easy at the time but over time made me more anxious to see them again than ever before. I guess the saying you don't know what you have till its gone is the truth because as excited as I was for this adventure I continuously wondered what my life would've been like if I had stayed home.

The Journey:
Punching in the address to my apartment from Minnesota stared it was 1500 miles and 30 hours away. My mother and I drove all those hours and took way longer than 30 hours. We stretched the journey out 5 days long and stoped in major cities along the way. The first two days took us to just outside Denver, Colorado where we spent the day exploring the city and taking a ton of pictures. Lets just say my Instagram looks amazing after this trip. We only stayed there for half the day once we started up those Colorado mountains and shit hit the fan. My car started overheating and we pulled over immediately after turning the heat on to cool the engine down. We called my dad and grampa trying to figure out what was wrong. Over multiple possibilities of what it could have been and many hours later it was concluded that we needed to take the thermometer out that connected to the engine. Once we took take out, we couldn't turn the heat on, everything returned to as normal as could have been. We weren't sure if it would last to California but we took it mile by mile.
My mom and I successfully made it to Las Vegas, Nevada. We spent two nights there, where we explored the strip and had a great relaxing time. We stayed at the Luxor hotel, which was the coolest hotel ever. It is shaped as a pyramid and has an Egyptian theme. During our stay I went to my first casino, I don't see what the fuss is about but hey, I did it. We also saw the Beatles cirque du soil show. It was absolutely amazing and an incredible experience you must do if you ever go to Las Vegas. We also went and did some shopping and made many discoveries about city bus travel.
After leaving Las Vegas, the next morning we drove straight to California. The second we crossed over the state line we were hit with traffic. Now the maps said it would take 4 hours and 51 minutes to get to our hotel in Tarzana but it ended up take almost 7 hours. It was brutal but defiantly worth it. The mountains were beautiful and we finally got the air conditioning to work.

Now this makes our trip sound really boring but how would you tell the story with out the millions of pictures I took. And the pictures don't even do it justice. It was a great trip and brought my mother and I closer together. I think the distance between us brought us closer together.
