Going With The Flow and Taking Opportunities
Have you ever had one of those days where everything just starts happening for you? Experiences just pop up? Well that was my life last thursday. Normally I don't call into a radio station to get tickets well anything but that day I decided what the hell why not. I don't have a word to describe that feeling. But I did it and I actually won tickets to go see R5. Before last thursday all I knew about R5 was the song the play on Disney Channel that occasionally pops up when nothing else is on. I wouldn't say I am a die-hard fan and I love them but they do have good music and are really nice people in person, which I respect. Fame hasn't gone to their head so yay!
I had to leave class to go and see them live at the KDWB Skyroom, which was not a problem with me. I was so excited that i probably skipped out of the classroom. I took my friend Sydnee along with me because we always seem to do random fun things together. Anyways, after cutting class we embraced on our journey to The Skyroom. We traveled through all the traffic and road construction that we have in Minnesota and listen to the few songs of R5's EP. Once we got to the building, which we weren't sure was the right building until we walked in and saw the line.
Okay, I don't know about Sydnee but I was so embarrassed that we looked like the oldest people there. I mean there was a variety but we were the oldest I swear. Also people kept asking us who was playing there and we just sounded like idiots constantly saying that we have no clue who they are. Awesome! So we waited for literally an hour. Okay maybe not an hour but it felt like it! When they finally let us go upstairs I was so excited! It was very modern looking and very casual but professional at the same time. I could so see myself working somewhere like that in the future. I think that'd be cool. But Anyways, man I keep getting off track a little bit but while we were waiting to get into the Skyroom, Ross Lynch just casually walks by us and tons of girls started screaming. Jeez I thank god that I am not one of those girls. Once we were allowed in the Skyroom they fed us lunch. Noodles and Company fed us and it was yummy. I never had it before and I'd give it a 3.5 out of 5. Then we were moved to our seats while we ate and they then welcomed R5 into the room and they did a small Q&A in-between the songs they played. They played good music and answered some silly tween girl questions. Some of which consisted of a Teen Beach Movie 2 and The end of Austin and Ally. I have seen both and well you know Disney now... but hey they are fun to watch when there is nothing else on the TV.
After the Q&A finished up they did a small meet and greet. We got autographed pictures and a picture with the band (which you can see below) and they talked to us a little bit. I will admit I fan girled in my head a little bit because they are awesome people and it's just crazy to have been able to do something like that.
Forgive me for this picture is ridiculous :) |
Take Chances and Don't pass up any opportunity that comes your way because even though this was something small it can be fun and bring you and your friends closer together.
